MN Childhood Injury Summit

Join us for the sixth annual Minnesota Childhood Injury Summit, September 25, 8:30 am - 3:45 pm at Vadnais Heights Commons. The event is designed for those involved in childhood injury prevention through public health and healthcare, public safety, not-for-profit organizations and any program with a focus on children. Presented by Safe Kids Minnesota, the Minnesota Safety Council and the Minnesota Department of Health, the event will feature local and national speakers including:


  • Julie Gilchrist, MD, National Center for Injury Prevention and Control, CDC, Atlanta, the author of recent widely-reported research on racial/ethnic disparities in drowning
  • Edward Ehlinger, MD, MSPH, Commissioner of the Minnesota Department of Health
  • Marizen Ramirez, MPH, PhD, University of Iowa, associate director of science for the university's Injury Prevention Research Center
  • Brian Richards, educational entertainer, 4 Ace Productions
  • Mary Beth Dahl, RN, program manger for the Culture Care Connection


Cost is $45 through September 11; $55 after September 11 (includes continental breakfast, buffet lunch and refreshments throughout the day).
