  • May 21, 2016
  • Multiple Statewide

What:  Strides for Stroke Walk on Saturday, May 21, 10:00 AM

Where:  5 Locations across Minnesota!

1) Duluth (Canal Park)

2) Fergus Falls (N.P. Park)

3) Rochester (Silver Lake)

4) St.. Cloud (CentraCare Health Plaza)

5) Twin Cities (Long Lake Regional Park in New Brighton)

Who:  MPHA members, colleagues, friends, families all welcome!

Why:  MPHA is pleased to include the Minnesota Stroke Association’s “Strides for Stroke Walk" as part of our series of social volunteering events. Stroke is the #1 cause of morbidity in the United States, and the majority of survivors are left with significant disabilities. To raise awareness of this public health issue, MPHA is organizing regional teams across the state to participate in this walk at the location nearest you. We are excited to participate in this public health event at a statewide level, simultaneously.

Next Steps:

1) We need 5 of you to volunteer as regional captains! (Locations listed above.)

Please email membership@mpha.net by the beginning of April.

(Details on being a team captain are here: https://www.strokemn.org/events/walk-captain.php )

2) Not interested in being a team captain, but still ready to participate on your regional team? Watch for a follow up email from MPHA with links to team webpages. Please find general information about the walk at: https://www.strokemn.org.

Note: Registrations requested by Monday, May 9th. Registration is free, but participants asked to raise least $25 to cover the cost of their t-shirts
