Contact Committee Chairs

MPHA has standing committees in need of new members. Many of these committees meet only a few times per year and much work is done by telephone. Check the committee that interest you, fill in your name and address and this form will be sent to MPHA for processing.

Annual Meeting
Plans and develops our once-a year meeting of the full membership, generally accompanied by the planning and development of an educational conference.

Communications Committee
Responsible for the communications and public relations activities of MPHA. The Communiqué - Quarterly newsletter of the organization. Articles submitted by members, and should fit with and compliment activities of the organization, the president's workplan and the mission of the organization.

Development Committee
Develops fiscal and political support for the activities of the organization.

Leadership Development
Identifies present and future leaders in public health and the MPHA. Promotes opportunities for leadership development.

Membership
Fosters the initial and continued affiliation of all persons eligible for membership.

Public Affairs
Reviews legislative proposals and other rules and regulations concerning public health; mobilizes and coordinates members for advocacy of MPHA policy positions on public health issues through personal contacts with and expert testimony before appropriate legislative and decision-making bodies; works in concert with other public health organizations to achieve MPHA policy goals. In addition, recommends positions on current public health issues; Reviews actions of the Associations to bring inconsistencies between policies and action to the attention of the governing Board; initiates and reviews proposed resolutions and position papers and makes recommendations to the Governing Board.
