Purpose • Delineate the major reproductive health issues of incarcerated women. • Identify best practices and policies to optimize the reproductive health of incarcerated women. • Identify best practices and polices for prenatal and postpartum care and education for incarcerated women.
Format • Presentations by nationally known speakers on incarceration as a public health issue; preconception, prenatal and postpartum health of incarcerated women; and prison nurseries. • Small-group case study discussions about current issues and controversies associated with the reproductive health of incarcerated women. • Intended Audience: Professionals, students, educators, legislators, and researchers in corrections, maternal and child health, reproductive health, women’s health, public health policy, nursing, and medicine.
