Achieving Universal Health Care for Kids (& Adults): The Minnesota Health Plan
Presented by: Ann Settgast MD, Assistant Professor of Medicine, University of Minnesota and Internist at HealthPartners Center for International Health
Dr. Settgast will discuss the number of uninsured and underinsured US children and describe the medical consequences of falling into one of these categories. She will explain the difference between single‐payer healthcare reform and other models (e.g., an individual mandate) and will make a case for why a single‐payer model will best address US problems with access, quality, and cost.
