National Maternal Nutrition Intensive Course

Audience:  Dietitians, nutritionist, certified nurse midwives, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians.

 

Description:  The National Maternal Nutrition Intensive course is being held August 12 to August 14, 2015 at the University of Minnesota, Hubert H. Humphrey School of Public Affairs-Cowles Auditorium,  301 19th Ave S. 

This continuing education program focuses on the improvement of maternal and infant health through the delivery of risk-appropriate high-quality nutrition services. It is designed for dietitians, nutritionists, certified nurse midwives, registered nurses and nurse practitioners, physicians and public health professionals who serve pre-conceptual, pregnant, post-partum and breastfeeding women.

The registration fee includes program sessions, materials, refreshment breaks and continuing education certificate for up to 15 contact hours of professional continuing education or Continuing Education Units (CEUs). Single day registration is available and students may register for the entire conference at a reduced rate.

Conference topics for this year include; Vitamin D in Pregnancy, Breastfeeding Promotion, Depression & Physical Activity in Pregnancy, Food Allergies, Fetal Origins of Disease, Choline Supplementation in children with FASD and Nutrient Content of Infant & Toddler Foods. 

Cost:  Full conference $195.00

 

The National Maternal Nutrition Intensive Course is also available as an online program from September 14 to November 30, 2015. The online program is eligible for up to 11.75 contact hours of professional continuing education or Continuing Education Units (CEUs).
