Carolina De La Rosa Mateo (she/her), MPH, is a Research Associate at Hispanic Advocacy and Community Empowerment through Research (HACER), a nonprofit which “works in concert with the Latino communities to access, generate, and disseminate credible and relevant research in order to inform institutional decisions and public policy”. HACER is part of the COVID-19 Community Coordinators Program, a program funded by the Minnesota Department of Health to address the inequities in access to COVID-19 related resources in Black, Indigenous, and Communities of Color. One of the components of this program is implementing a COVID-19 Hotline at grantee sites, which HACER has been implementing since November 2020.

During her presentation, Carolina will share the process of setting up the bilingual (Spanish/English) hotline, preliminary evaluation data for the first two months of the hotline, lessons learned from the process, and next steps for HACER’s hotline. She will also share some of the simple Microsoft Office tools and websites she used to collect and analyze the data for the program.

This presentation may be of interest to those that work with the Latine community, nonprofits conducting public health works or with interest in implementing a hotline, and students looking for simple tools to collect and visualize data for their projects.
