We are excited to present Makani Themba, a Chief Strategist at Higher Ground Change Strategies based in Jackson, Mississippi. As a social justice innovator and pioneer in the field of change communication and narrative strategy, she has spent more than 30 years supporting organizations, coalitions, and philanthropic institutions in developing high impact change initiatives.

In this interactive, and MPHA member-only session, Themba will frame communications to advance racial justice and generate capacity—one that views racism as a system of discrimination rather than a sole aggregate of individual attitudes. From such a perspective, we will collectively break myths and misconceptions to disrupt embedded ideas that reinforce injustice and indifference to change.
