Minnesota Public Health Association
As the American Public Health Association says, when people receive quality reproductive and sexual health care, education and access, they can fulfill a happier and healthier life. Young people, American Indians and people of color, LGBTQI+ people, and people with disabilities are often underserved by healthcare. That's where the Minneapolis Urban Initiative comes in. The Minneapolis Urban Initiative (MUI) is a collaborative dedicated to inclusive sexual health education, services, and resources in Minneapolis. Members include state, county, city, academic, and nonprofit public health professionals, all dedicated to supporting young people.
During the day dedicated to Sexual and Reproductive Health on National Public Health Week, members of different MUI organizations will get together and talk about the state of sexual health in Minnesota, the resources available for young people and their families, and the best ways to support sexual health education for young people.
