Breathe with MPHA
Dear MPHA Members & Friends,
You are invited to join your MPHA friends for a wonderful community pranayama class! Pranayama, which translates to "control of breath," is indeed a powerful practice that can enhance both physical and mental well-being. By focusing on techniques like Kapalabhati (a cleansing breath) and Nadi Shodhana (alternate nostril breathing), participants can activate the parasympathetic nervous system, promoting relaxation and reducing stress.
These techniques not only help in calming the mind but also improve oxygen flow, enhance lung capacity, and can even aid in emotional regulation. It's a great opportunity to connect with others while learning valuable skills for personal wellness.
Instructor Information:
The pranayama class is being guided by Nancy Franke Wilson, a certified yoga teacher and longtime MPHA member. She obtained her RYT-200 certification from Kripalu. Nancy has enjoyed many benefits from her yoga and pranayama practice. She hopes to give the MPHA community some tools for reducing stress during this very difficult time.
