Advancing Veteran Oral Health in Minnesota

The Minnesota Oral Health Coalition and American Institute of Dental Public Health (AIDPH) are working together to advance veteran oral health in Minnesota during our Virtual Road Tour, a state-based series featuring tools, resources, data, and advocacy frameworks for improving access and outcomes for veterans. This virtual road tour “stop” includes a one-hour session designed to empower state-based stakeholders to identify gaps and potential solutions for Minnesota veterans and their oral health. The interactive session will feature an overview of Minnesota veteran oral health state profile, along with state and national efforts underway to improve the oral health of veterans. 

During a didactic portion, we will delve into state-specific veteran oral health data sourced from AIDPH's comprehensive veteran oral health state profiles and our cutting-edge veteran oral health data dashboard. We’ll guide you in discovering the unique challenges and opportunities that define veteran oral health in Minnesota, allowing you to tailor your advocacy efforts effectively. Plan to engage in facilitated discussion for ways to use information in clinical, research, and policy decision-making tailored to the needs of Minnesota veterans. There will be opportunities for active listening, solution-building, sharing insights, and identifying knowledge gaps, policy shortcomings, data deficiencies, and advocacy needs specific to Minnesota. By fostering an open dialogue, we will collectively generate solutions and strategies to drive impactful change at the state level.
